A prominent west coast Law Firm has leased a pre-built office suite in Midtown Manhattan and brought SDudio on board to create a staff Lounge space adjacent to the staff Pantry.
Since this space is located directly opposite glass-fronted private offices, the intent was to come up with a method for visually masking the Lounge area without enclosing the space with partitions. SDudio designed felt panels to define the perimeter of the Lounge area providing a visually compelling divider between Lounge and corridor and lending the space acoustic baffle.
The firm wanted to celebrate it's new New York location by way of Art/Graphics in the space so SDudio designed a 30 foot wide Brooklyn Bridge wall mural as the primary feature lending the space a visually iconographic residential feel; soft seating, ottomans, an area rug and an array of flexible occasional tables were specified to accomplish this feel. A double-sided bar height parsons table serves both the Pantry and the Lounge areas and is a buffet serving table when space is in use for office events.
